The National Book Critics Awards

The 2012 National Book Critics award winners will be announced on February 28. Nominees in a half-dozen categories were chosen by top book review editors, and the full list can be found at Pacific Grove Library and Monterey Library own the following titles, so check them out before everyone else puts them on hold!

Autobiography & Biography: House of Stone by Anthony Shadid; The Passage of Power by Robert Caro; All We Know: Three Lives by Lisa Cohen; The Black Count by Tom Reiss.

Non-fiction: Behind the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo; Private Empire: ExxonMobil and American Power by Steve Coll; Why Does the World Exist? by Jim Holt; Far From the Tree by Andrew Solomon; Spillover: Animal Infections by David Quammen.

Poetry: Bewilderment by David Ferry.
