The Friends of Pacific Grove Public Library are excited to introduce author Julia Kennedy Cochran discussing her father’s memoir, which she edited, Ed Kennedy’s War: V-E Day, Censorship and the Associated Press, this Sunday at the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History.
Mr. Kennedy was an associate editor of The Monterey Herald in 1949, and worked as the AP bureau chief in Paris during World War II. He became the most famous – or infamous – American correspondent of World War II for breaking the news of the Germans’ surrender, in violation of the military’s embargo.
Julia Kennedy Cochran will appear at the Friends of Pacific Grove Library annual membership meeting at 2:30pm. The meeting will be held at the Natural History Museum instead of at the library.
Ed Kennedy’s War is available at The Works on Lighthouse Avenue.
