2012 Summer Reading Program

It’s time for some Summer Reading!  We’ll be running two Summer Reading programs: one for kids and one for adults.  Kids and parents, start reading below.  Adults, you can skip ahead 😉

Summer Reading Club for Kids

Our popular children’s Summer Reading Club started on May 29 and runs through July 27th.  This year’s theme is “Dream Big—READ!”

Who Can Play? Young people ages 2-15 are invited to dream big through books this summer.

When? The Summer Reading Program begins Tuesday May 29th, and ends Wednesday July 27th.

How to Start? Pick up your Reading Log when you sign up at the Library. Use the Reading Log to record the books you read or books that are read to you over the summer. As you read, your star will visit nocturnal animals and if you record 50 books or 1250 pages you will land on the moon! Every time you read books you will receive tickets to redeem for prizes!

  • 5 books or 125 pages—1 ticket
  • 10 books or 250 pages—2 tickets
  • 15 books or 375 pages—3 tickets
  • 20 books or 500 pages—4 tickets
  • 25 books or 625 pages—5 tickets
  • 30 books or 750 pages—8 tickets
  • 40 books or 1000 pages—10 tickets
  • 50 books or 1250 pages—15 tickets

Library staff and Volunteers are generally able to play the game with you during Library open hours. It is always a good idea to call first—648-5760.
